Welcome to the 2025-2026 Travel Basketball Season
Manchester-Essex Travel Basketball would like to welcome everyone to the 2025-2026 basketball season!
Before registering, please review the season timeline below and visit our 'teams' page for details on team formation, player placement, & playing time. Please also familiarize yourself and your player(s) with our codes of conduct. By registering a player or coach, you agree to comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
Coaches interested in registering to coach should visit our 'coaches' page for guidelines and information.
We require online player registration, coach applicant registration, payment processing, and e-waivers.
Registrations closed at 5 PM on 10/15/2025.

SEASON TIMELINE 2026-2027
*All dates subject to change at the discretion of the METB Board.
August 15th – September 30th (5:00 PM)
- Player registration and coaching applicant registrations open and close via the METB web site.
- Due to the administrative burden of reopening/closing systems and the need for evaluation planning, no late registrations will be accepted—no exceptions.
- Parents purchase uniforms directly through our apparel store found HERE. Returning children who need new uniforms must retain the same jersey number they had in previous seasons. If you are new to the program, please fill out the online player registration first and wait for a jersey number approval email - as part of the registration process you will be asked to submit your child’s top 3 jersey number choices. Jersey numbers will be given out on a first come, first served basis - duplicate numbers for the same grade and gender are not allowed. Someone from the Manchester-Essex Travel Basketball Board of Directors will get back to you on final jersey number approval, which will then allow you to order your child’s uniform. If you are new to the program, please refrain from ordering a uniform until you receive your jersey number confirmation email. For new players, failure to wait for a confirmation email approving your child's jersey number may result in having to re-purchase a new uniform jersey at your own cost.

- 2nd round player evaluations conducted (time and place TBA)
Week of October 26th
- Coaching selections finalized by METB Board
First Week of November
- Coaches to send welcome e-mail to parents with team announcement and season information
Second Week of November
- Team practices begin
December thru Feb
- Regular season games begin and may take place on BOTH Saturday & Sunday. Please consider this and be sure your family will be able to make this commitment before registering for the season
March
- Play-off games begin and can run through mid-March, dependent on a team's success.
METB Mission
Manchester-Essex Travel Basketball (METB) is an all-volunteer, non-profit program for players in grades 5-8 who live in Manchester or Essex, MA and/or attend school in the Manchester-Essex Regional School District.
The mission of METB is to provide student athletes of all experience levels an engaging atmosphere to improve their fundamental understanding of the game of basketball, while also developing life-long skills such as thriving in a team environment, practicing good sportsmanship, and learning to manage through both successes and failures. METB also aims to foster team spirit and individual growth through personal achievement and team success in a safe, competitive environment alongside friends and classmates.
METB vs Town Programs
Young players exploring the game of basketball often choose to join the town basketball program through Manchester Parks and Recreation, as a first step to learn the foundational elements of the sport and establish early interest. Some players will join the METB program once they and their families are ready for a higher level of competition and commitment; we strongly encourage our METB players to also play in the town program.
